Community Center
The Southgate Community Center is a multi-function community center which is located at 301 W. Walnut St. The community center is surrounded by trees and a park. There is a baseball field, volleyball court, exercise stations, playground and walking trail around a fishing lake.
The large hall is ideal for weddings and dances up to 300 people. The small hall is available for rental for birthday/anniversary parties, bridal/baby showers, family gatherings, or business meetings up to 75 people.
The picnic shelter which is also available for rental on Sundays only. It is located in the park with access to the ballfield, volleyball court, playground, and walking trails around the lake. Fishing is permitted with a valid KY fishing license.

The Park and Tree Board, along with City Staff work diligently to keep the Community Center beautiful, by planting trees and flowers for your family outings and celebrations. It is their goal to have the building and surrounding grounds reflect the pride of the people of Southgate.

The City of Southgate will be installing a new playground for ages 2-5 and 5-12 during the spring/summer of 2024. There will be new swings installed also.
Community Center Park & Lake
Walking trails around the park and lake are a great way to enjoy a walk on a beautiful day. The 1.2 mile trails are paved and go around the park and the lake. There are wooded areas to enjoy as well as a playground, volleyball court, ball field and picnic shelter. You can fish in the lake that is stocked several times each year by KY Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. Remember to get your fishing license. Call the Clerk’s office at 859-441-0075 to schedule times to use the ballfield from April – June for organized teams. When there is not a scheduled practice on the field, residents are welcome to use the field.
