Applications Open for Campbell County Citizens Academy – 7.20.26
The Academy gives 25 residents and business owners an inside look at how county government actually operates. Over eight Monday evenings, participants visit county facilities, meet elected officials and department staff, tour locations not normally open to the public, and see how the services people use every day are delivered. That includes a guided golf cart tour of AJ Jolly Golf Course, visits to county parks, and a tour of the Campbell County Detention Center.
Sessions run from 6 to 8 p.m. and begin Monday, Aug. 31. There is no class on Labor Day, so the second session is Monday, Sept. 14. Participation is free.
Because enrollment is limited to 25, seats go quickly. Applications close Wednesday, Aug. 26, and I would encourage anyone interested to apply early rather than wait.
