The City of Southgate is located in Campbell County KY. Incorporated in 1907, Southgate is primarily residential and is known as the "City of Friendly Homes". It is unique in that it is located two miles from downtown Cincinnati, while maintaining its "small town charm". Approximately 4,000 residents live in Southgate. Evergreen Cemetery (approximately 300 acres) founded in 1840s can be found near the junction of I-471 and Rt 27.
The City of Southgate executed a new contract for waste collection and recycling with Rumpke beginning July 1, 2016. Waste and recycling pickup day will continue to be Tuesday. A 65-gallon recycling and a 95 gallon waste container (toter) will be delivered to all residents. If you would like to request a smaller toter, please contact the City Clerk's office 859-441-0075 by August 1. A Rumpke flyer was mailed to all Southgate residents regarding new service. Large items may be placed at curb weekly (call Rumpke 24 hours in advance 877-786-7537). Mattresses, sofas and similar items should be wrapped in plastic.
The speed limit on city streets is 20 mph unless otherwise marked. Some streets are marked at 15 mph. Please drive safely and obey all traffic control devices.
